Senior Research Analyst, IT Markets - IDC West Africa
Mr. Babatunde Afolayan is a member of IDC's Systems and Infrastructure Solutions team in West Africa, which involves analyzing data on personal computers, tablets, storage, and servers, and ensuring timely and accurate updates to IDC's quarterly trackers and annual studies for West Africa. In addition to assessing how economic, social, and political factors influence the future of PC markets, he advises organizations on the best way to apply market research to strategic decision making.
Prior to joining IDC, Afolayan worked as an analyst with the Nigeria office of Africa Analysis West Africa, focusing on analyzing ICT market trends and providing in-depth intelligence and insights on the Nigerian ICT industry and market players. Afolayan also managed research and analysis of the ICT industry in other West African markets for Africa Analysis. He started his market research career in 2004, when he joined eShekels Limited, a market research firm focused on the development of the IT and telecommunications markets in Nigeria.
Babatunde Afolayan holds a bachelor's degree in estate management from the University of Lagos, and is an associate member of Nigerian Market Research Association (NiMRA). He speaks English and Yoruba.
